"Every child is potentially the light of the world".
I believe that children´s inner gems can be unearthed regardless of what difficulties they may be going through. Work with children is the most rewarding, because they are so responsive and willing to transform. Every child is special and has been given enhanced abilities to not only compensate for any difficulties they may have but to thrive and contribute something unique to the world because of those challenges. How can we nurture those together?
I work with couples using tools from tested models. I consider marriage to be a "fortress of wellbeing" and the first child of the couple to be nurtured. I help couples which are either experiencing difficulties to find harmony or which would like to experience a deeper, more fulfilling relationship. A special interest of mine is intercultural marriage.
Parents Parenting opens new vistas and opportunities for growth. I use methods that have been researched to show significant positive effects in helping parents cope with and manage their role. We learn to deal with behavioural issues of children in gentle and creative ways. Mothers
Postpartum depression can be a debilitating condition and requires treatment. All the logistics involved with having an infant and getting everything organised to go to an appointment, especially when one does not have the energy can be challenging. Bearing this in mind, I have created “pajama counselling“, where I make house visits and we do the assessment, diagnosis and treatment in your home until you feel better enough to come to the practice.
One of the most important processes in the life of a baby is attachment (bonding) to a primary caregiver. I believe increasingly in the power of creating secure attachments as a prevention of many problems later in life. I have particular interest in this area and was working in the research of this topic at the Department of Developmental Psychology at the University of Vienna. Even though the bonding process is instinctual in most cases, sometimes it may need enhancing, especially in cases where there has been postpartum depression, divorce, adoption and surprise babies.I work with mum and baby (or dad and baby) to develop this connection.
Family The family is the smallest unit of our social fabric. Healthy families are the building blocks of flourishing communities and the welfare of individuals depend on them.
The problems a child or adult may exhibit may be due to challenges within the family rather than an intrinsic issue. So rather than only working with the individual, helping the family as a system may be what is required. Coaching the family can be effective in alleviating stress in the individual. A positive approach will be used, looking at the strengths within the family and how those can be used to increase interconnectedness and unity.
I also provide group workshops for couples, mothers and parents. Please see the Steps to Take tab to get more information.
